Because he was in a car accident which made his truck undriveable.
Oh, and the pain. The pain kinda hurt.
A lot.
However, no lasting damage. No broken bones. Just a huge bruise or two.
The place where my seat belt was has turned yellow. I'm not a doctor, but that probably means that my complaining about the stabbing pain is justified.
Anyways, life goes on. I still have to work, of course. I was thrown back to my less-than-minimum-wage job two days after the accident.
It apparently builds character or something.
Anyways, I'm not complaining... technically.
I'm not a complainer.
So, about the accident. Someone stopped in the middle of the road quickly. They were going to turn into a hidden driveway... without their turn signal.
I couldn't stop in time because my truck sucks. Instead of a new car on my 16th birthday, I was given my grandfathers 1988 truck when I turned 18.
It had been sitting in his driveway for about 10 years.
Anyways, it didn't have an airbag and was fragile. The front was completely crushed in. The impact had my glasses fly off my face, and it was hard to draw breath. I stumbled out of the car, unable to see, and yelled and screamed a little.
The girls I hit complained to each other about the idiot who hit them and didn't give me a second glance. I could hear them. They pointed to the back of their SUV and commented about how it was smashed in a little to each other.
Instead of noticing that I needed medical attention.
I staggered over to them to ask if they were all right and to apologize because, you know, I'm just too nice for my own good.
They ignored me.
Finally, someone who lived close by helped me find my glasses and turn my hazard lights on. He offered to call the cops, which he did, and they brought an ambulance that I had to use.
Anyways, it was technically my fault so my insurance company will have to pay and I got a ticket. I'll have to take a driving class to avoid getting points on my license.
Just so you know how bad my trick sucked, here's a comparison.
The damage done was valued at 2,000 dollars. It is undriveable.
Their damage was valued at 4,000 dollars, and I barely did squat.
ANYWAYS, like I said, what happens happens.
Times like this are when you must remain the MOST positive, so I'll go on.
Have a nice day everyone.
